Ik heb veel how-to’s in pdf in het Engels ontvangen en deze niet vertaald omdat dit anders erg veel tijd zou gaan kosten. Mocht je er niet aan uitkomen, mag je me pm’en. De meeste van deze how-to’s heb ik zelf ook al eens uitgeprobeerd.
Met de MK3 wordt de Astra F bedoeld, met de MK4 de Astra G.

Inside the standard airbox there are two pipes that restrict airflow within the box. Removing these pipes will make the engine more responsive, and may liberate a few BHP in the process – especially when done in conjunction with an aftermarket panel filter, and the Vectra C Inlet Pipe mod (see other Astra-Sport How To’s for further information)Note – the example shown is a 1.6 MK4 Astra, but the process is similar for all models
Step 1
Remove the top of the airbox by releasing the clips (circled blue) as shown, and the hose clip (circled green) holding the intake feed pipe to the airbox.
Remove any other pipes that may be attached to the lid – they just unclip and lift off.
Once done, remove the airbox lid for the car.
Step 2
On the underside of the lid you will see a cone shaped pipe – It is held in place by the two lugs (circled blue).
Push these inwards whilst applying pressure to push the pipe out of the lid
That’s the first pipe removed.
Step 3
It’s easier to take the base of the airbox off the car for the next pipe.
Remove the panel filter, and place it somewhere clean and out of the way.
Now pull the base of the airbox towards the front of the car, until the pins come clear of the mounting bracket. Lift the rear of the box over the bracket, and slide the lower half backwards and out of the car.
Step 4
The lower pipe is held in place by two lugs; however you can only get to one from the outside of the box (circled blue).
Put a large screwdriver in the hole and push firmly to release the lug, pushing it into the airbox.
Step 5
Refit the lower section, remembering to locate the intake feed correctly.
Finally replace the filter, and then refit the lid, outlet pipe and any other hoses disturbed during removal.Heb het een paar dagen geleden gedaan, en het bevalt goed :afro
Belangrijkste is een lekkere brom als je het gas diep intrapt, maar wat me vandaag (bij toeval, was nog nie helemaal wakker) opviel is dat ik nu met mijn z16se (1.6 8 kleppert) gewoon moeiteloos in z’n 2 kan optrekken :jerry
Bedankt voor het delen van deze tutorial, bij mij was de onderste pijp wel een soort van katoen op een stukje plastic, deze heb ik met wat wringen er ook moeiteloos uit kunnen krijgen.
ik heb het ook gedaan bij mijn astra h, echter vraag ik me af of het gaatje dat open blijft na verwijderen van de buis op het inlaat stuk van de luchtbox (stap 4 foto2) of dit met tape o.i.d. moet worden afgedicht of dat dit open kan blijven? Ik bedoel het stuk waar de schroevendraaier in gezet wordt…..
als je denkt dat het valse lucht aanzuigt waar je het niet wilt hebben moet je dat gewoon afdoppen.
maar veel kwaad zal het niet kunnen aangezien het nog voor het luchtfilter is.Als ik deze pijpen eruit haal kan ik alles dan weer gewoon aansluiten kwa slangen, of heb je dan verloop stukjes nodig?
Die buisje heb ik terug gedaan heb alleen het soort katoen buisje er uit gehaalt en waar die katoen aan vast zat heb ik terug gedaan.

was bij mij ook katoen idd, misschien om het geluid beter te dempen. Inmiddels heb ik er al meer dan 50k kilometers met K&N 57s 4900 setje opzitten, geeft een nog leukere brom met dat lekkere aanzuig geluid als je het gas intrapt :jerry
Heb het ook gedaan op mijn 1.6xel, merk er niets van.
Wat ook leuk is, als je de pijp uit de bak haalt blijft er een open vierkantje achter.
De aanzuigbuis dicht dat niet af. Ik heb daar maar een stukje ducktape over geplakt.
Als ik een vectra c diesel op de sloop tegen kom zal ik de aanzuigbuis daarvan overzetten.@Fearless wrote:

Als ik een vectra c diesel op de sloop tegen kom zal ik de aanzuigbuis daarvan overzetten.Deze mod is met name voor het geluid, bij mijn Z16SE kwam er direct al een leuke roffel uit, pas later merkte ik dat hij onderin iets soepeler lijkt te rijden (minder zn strotje dicht geknepen zegmaar). Echter begon hij recent wel heel erg fanatiek te roffelen met de K&N 47s 4900 set. (K&N open luchtfilter) Bleek dat de aanzuigbuis aan het filter losgeschoten was, waarschijnlijk enkele honderden kilometers zonder luchtfilter gereden zonder het te merken :cry
Echter is bij mij nu ook het flexibele stukje vanaf de MAF? naar de motor kapot, kan dit nergens online vinden.
