@ Alexandre.
Really nice Monza’s you have in Brazil, our Ascona was replaced by the Vectra in 1988.
i have 4 Ascona’s ,one fully restored,my father bought the car in 1983,brand new but unfortunately at the end the car was pretty much destroyed by the rust.
I’ll bet Monza’s/Ascona’s don’t rust that much in Brazil!
Check this link http://opel-forum.nl/viewthread.php?tid=108272&page=1 for the rebuild of the car!Ah, we have problems with rust around here too, especially in cars that are in coastal regions. The cars as well as care has no many problems, but neglecting the very rust attacks. Here the Monza / Ascona went through a period with the Vectra, Vectra B later released with a more stripped to take the place of Monza, but here is a car still quite amazed, even 14 years after they stop making it.
Yes, I’ll see the link, I like restorations.Mensagem original enviada por ascona marco

Do you know there is a Chevrolet Monza Classic 500 EF (1990) ?
It’s the first passenger car of brazil with electronic injection.
A special edition with leather seats, 2.0 i engine and all options.
You can drive in it in the GTA-gameThe Chevrolet Monza Classic SE 500 E.F. was a special series in honor of Emerson Fittipaldi’s victory in the Indianapolis 500 (Indy) was only produced in 1990 based on the Classic SE model. He was equipped with electronic fuel injection analog (it was the second in Brazil equipped with injection, the first was the VW Gol GTi in 1989), was manufactured only in two colors (wine and dark green metallic metal), had an outwardly elegant and discreet spoiler and bands Decorative “500 E.F.”. Internally it was complete, only the automatic transmission was optional, and seats were in black leather. At the time cost 50% more than the normal Classic SE.
This model is quite rare to find around here, because few were sold.

Welcome Ascona, eh, Chevrolet Monza Classic driver.
A nice looking car you own.
I collect German sales brochures.
Especially from the Opel brand.
Was looking for Chevrolet Monza Classic ones, but can’t find any.
Do you know where i can buy the brochures ?
And is it true that the later models where equipt with air conditioning ?Unfortunately it is difficult to find brochures, unless you get some collectors still would be some copy. The latest models were well equipped, including air conditioning, but you can still find them without the original system.
A top model in 1989 was version 2.0 Classic SE, had the option of two-tone paint and interior color of the car:
This is not tunning (except the wheels), it’s original version…
Ascona’s last panel and interior version:
Other kind of steering wheel:
Our actual Chevrolet Astra (GSi):
SS version:
Sedan version:

@ Alexandre Nunes,Welcome, this is a verry nice topic!!!
Normaly i looked on e-bay like site of brazil for the chevrolet Corsa’s parts, and never had the thought to check the rest of the GM models.
:wub your rideGreetzz TetSuo
Thanks! The GM models made here generally take based on European models, the Americans think the style much better than American cars. We and many others had similar models and even equal to those manufactured in Europe.

Hatchback sport een 1,8 SRNice !! :wub
How much would a car like this (pre 1987) cost over there?
This model was manufactured between 1986 and 1989 is very nice, but rare, because it was too expensive at the time. It was offered with a 1.8 engine preparation (known as 1.8/S) differs from other models and then with 2.0 normal (all 8V). Today one of these in good condition is very difficult to find and worth a lot, practically collector’s item. Here in Brazil, well-preserved old cars are highly valued.
I meant a normal hatchback version, not specificly the SR.
The regular version is much cheaper, because a car is undervalued, but it is also difficult to find one in good condition, most will stop at the scrap due to not having proper maintenance. I think it is around $ 1,000 to $ 3,000, depends heavily on conservation.

Naakpakjes ??
Astraman said : Put on some Opel hub caps and grille, and you’ve got a real head-turner.
I said : my idea, an Ascona C (= european name for your Monza) Coupe :wubOh yes, yes, look at the Brazilian is not very different from Europe, replacing the grille and hub caps, they are already quite similar.
And it could even be an Ascona C coupe, the sedan as we have three volumes.:)Opel naakpakjes en griller erin en je hebt een koppendraaier.

Nice pics,do you have more pics from the restyled Monza (Ascona C),like the interior and the dashboard?
Oh yes, I put pictures later, but the interior is practically the same, but there were changes in fabrics and finishes of doors, spelling tools and some equipment. And in the latter model, when it was released, he had the option of dashboard, but then was eliminated. The panel was similar to the Omega.

@ Alexandre and M~V: the ascona looks indeed as an Europeen Omega A,
do I read on the back of the “New Vectra” 2.4 16v ?Yes, 16V is 2.4, the engine had its cubic capacity increased to 2.4, both the 8v and 16v, 8v including is used in the S10 truck.

Mooi wagen!Vind het wel wat hebben zo’n hachtback 2 doors. Very nice:jerry
Do you have GM cars with a c20xe engine?
There is also an Opel Kadett (pontiac le mans) on the background? On the belowest picture.
Bedankt!
