Hallo,
Laurent

Erg makkelijk zelf te doen
30 augustus 2014 om 07:53 #18247756I’ve just replaced my LCD screen and thought this How to might be useful. You don’t need to take the radio or its control panel off nor do you need to remove the dash trims (the wood effect or black trims need to be removed to access the radio but not the display).
Ignition & radio off, left battery connected.
The LCD screen surround/facia is removed by gently prising it away from the dashboard at top and bottom left hand corners with your fingers and then bottom right then top right and it pops out with screen mounted via 2 bolts into the surround. it will unclip at about 4 points, 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom.
Unplug the 2 plugs on the back of the screen (colour coded) and bigger one to the rear of the hazard warning light button (that one is very tight, you need to squeeze the clip in then wiggle and pull).
My left hand vent came loose when the surround popped out so I had to clip that back into the surround before reassembly. Make sure you locate it carefully into the surround and the dial sits proud of the facia and moves freely before reassembly.
Then place the surround/facia face down on a soft cloth and remove the 2 small bolts then swap over the displays. The display is secured to the facia by two locator lugs at the top and the two small bolts at the bottom.
Replace in reverse order. Before popping it back in fully perform a quick test to ensure it is working (take care not to scratch the dash/radio below when you put the LCD and surround back into its hole).
Locate the surround/facia in the 2 holes you can see inside the top of the dash and push hard at the top until it pops in. Then push in at the bottom until it clicks in fully (doesn’t half make a clonk when the clips locate).
The old screen was part 13223793 (used in pre 10/2009 assemblies) and I replaced it with part 20935346 which is supposedly an improved model installed from 10/2009 (visually the same).
The whole job takes about 10 mins. Then another 5 to clean your finger prints off the dash.
No programming is necessary.
I hope this is useful to anyone contemplating the task in future.
