Hallo,
Ik ben dus naar een aantal C GSI’tjes aan het kijken op internet, omdat ik er eigenlijk eentje wil halen.
Wat zijn eigenlijk de bekende kwaaltjes waar naar gekeken moet worden bij aanschaf? Roest rond de wielkuipen wist ik al, maar verder nog iets? (motorisch/chassis)En is er veel mogelijkheden qua upgraden/retrofitten?
Zoals stoelverwarming, het TID omwisselen naar een GID (Of zit er al een GID in?), is er een lederen of semi-lederen interieur voor de corsa?Ik had graag jullie tips gehoord!

http://www.clubopel.com/viewtopic.php?t=104844&highlight=” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;About Corsa C, check all necessary lights are ON and going OFF when engine is started or before that: engine, ABS (if fitted), airbag, Electric Power Steering (EPS), dynamo, oil pressure, immobiliser, handbrake (in this picture engine light is missing!).
It is very easy to change km on Corsa C dashboard, with a cheap opcom 25 eur tool. So do not necessarily rely on it, but look around the car. Check steering if strange noises inside car, maybe EPS motor damage. Have opcom or other tool with you, check engine operation and lambda sensor fluctuation aprox 200-800 mV as will indicate good mixture burning. Check brake pads if not worn out, check handbrake, check exhaust if leakage or not, check brake pedal if push is ok, check for oil leakages on engine, check service records, last timing belt change, oil filter, oil, fuel filter, spark plugs.
Check doors and side panels for accident marks, correct fitting. Check all equipment if correct working. Hope it helps.

The engine in a gsi is a z18xe, am i right? What Are the Weak points for that engine?Translate for those webpages are horrible, could you translate the pages about the seat heating, the alarm, and the auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

De motor in een GSi is een Z18xe, toch? Zijn er zwakke plekken bij dat blok?De automatische vertaling voor die webpagina’s zijn vreselijk, zou je de pagina’s over de stoelverwarming, het alarm en de zelfdimmende binnenspiegel kunnen vertalen?
Je mag me een PB sturen, als je tijd hebt natuurlijk.De GSi heeft standaard al ESP en tractie-controle, of heb ik het verkeerd? Laat het me weten als het niet zo is!
Bedankt!I have Z14XE so not sure about Z18XE (not necessarily GSI is 1.8, can be 1.7 cdti as well). The good point is that EGR is not fitted! So no problems there. king: My next retrofit will be one Z18XE in my Corsa C with automatic gearbox from Astra G.
I would check oil level on engine, good idle sound and not too many vibrations, good acceleration response (even with car standing still). Open oil filling cap and look into the engine, check for oil sludge. If you see oil sludge, run away! Check how fast the oil pressure light goes off after engine start, it should go off quite fast.

No, it is not necessarily correct that GSI has ESP (was optional). Check corsa-c.co.uk on that. This optional extra fitting or not can be checked by me using the original VIN (serial number) of the car. Maybe GSI has traction control standard but again, I am not 100% sure. Please check the original brochures, maybe you know german.

I forgot, cruise control can also be retrofitted, at least I did on Z14XE ecu, maybe GSI has it standard.
Well, cruisecontrol is a huge must for me, so if that isnt in, it better be possible :P
I am not in a hurry for the translations, as for now, i dont even own the car to make the upgrades to! :P
If you send me te english translations when you are ready, i will translate them to dutch, so maybe they can be put in a how-to section.

Yes, cruise control is possible on Z18XE (I have checked the original wiring diagrams).
Dont forget the eps problem.
Lighter steering to the left or right side.
Cheap fixable but worth mentioning so he does not let a nice Gsi slide due to this problem.And like people said dont look @ how much it has driven kms wise.
But listnen how it sounds and runs take it for a nice ride.
Go over some bumpy roads etc.
