Opel Vectra GTS Ketting.

I have an Opel Vectra gts 2.2 benzine Z22se.

I was told by the opel dealer that I need to change the kettingset, because the engine is vibrating heavily and based on a readout from the computer.



However the engine is vibrating only very slightly. There are no noises and any ticking sounds when the engine is on and running. I have been to another garage which did a readout and said there were no reports of problems.



They did advise to change the kettingset (alleen voor de nokkenas) but it was not urgent.

Can you advise what I should do? Did anyone else have this problem before. It is quite expensive to have the kettingset changed so please advise.

wanneer is de laatste keer de ketting vervangen?



ik ben zelf niet bekend met de 2.2, maar voor de kenner is het misschien wel handig.

The problem may indeed be the balansketting. Can I change the balansketting only without changing the distributieketting?

Of course maybe it is better to change both (distributie and balans) but I would prefer to change only what is necessary.

If I change both it will costs me about 1300 euros and if I change balansketting only it can cost me 900 euro. What is your advise? What do you think is a normal price for changing both chains. I thought that the distributie/balansketting was 'onderhoudsvrij' therefore I only want to change what I think is the problem.

Bij het vervangen van de balans ketting moet ook de nokkenas ketting er af.

Omdat de balans ketting achter de nokkenas ketting zit.



Een universeel auto bedrijf zal de ketting voor ongeveer 850 tot 1000 euro kunnen vervangen.



Waar kom je vandaan.

Er zijn misschien forum leden in de buurt die je eventueel kunnen helpen.

Do you or anyone know about an universeel auto bedrijf in this area where I can have both the balans ketting and the nokkenas ketting voor ongeveer 850 tot 1100 euro kunnen vervangen.



At the moment I am still confused. Some garages say the ketting only needs to be changed if there is a noise.

I have no noise at the moment. No warnings in the dashboard. The only problem is that the engine vibrates slightly but the car drives perfect.



Any advice will be gladly welcomed
 
Bij saab kan dat misschien maar bij Opel NIET!! Deze ketting drijft ook de waterpomp aan. Het schudden van de motor kan ook komen doordat de ketting 1 of meerdere tanden versprongen is.

Hier krijg je voor de rest geen storingen van.

Als je de ketting laat vervangen, laat ze altijd allebei doen. Scheelt je achteraf een hoop gezeik want de achterste wil ool nog wel eens breken. Met alle gevolgen van dien.

I am searching for a garage where I can have my distributie kettings (nokkenas and balans) replaced for a price tusssen 800euro and 1200 euro.
