it seems to be that they both are very similiar, except for the “groove” in front.

If you want to run the 25E camshaft in the 25S head, you will need to cut a 2 mm deep grove in the 25E camshaft, to provide oil deliverance to the valve rockers.
Make sure the grove is in the exact same place.

If you dont, your camshaft wil wear down quit quickly and you will end up with rounded cams.

Other than that, there will be no problems.

Yeah what Freestylers says is true, you need to groove or else your cam wont live long.

I forgot tho tell you that, the early carby engines had that groove in them, the later injection engines had a bit of modified oil system without that groove, where did you get that cam from?
          From a early or a late 2500?

The later 2500E had a diffent cam than the earlyer ones for more torque in the lower rpm area,s.

Just let a groove machined in that 2500E and it shut be okay.

i got it from a engine fixer who is rebuilding my sisters corsa b at the moment, he told me that he had two cih 6cylinder engines. He has like a scrapyard in the back of his repair shop. I really don’t know what year is it, i found it laying in the big pile of different engine bits, nearby was lying 25E block. So i guess the head belongs to it. He gave me the whole cylinder head for free.

If it is really has big difference, i may write a code of that block which was lying nearby.

So now i’ll just try to find a place where i can machine that groove.

thanks everybody for your honest help :thumbup

If you are having difficulty machining that groove, just switch heads

Swiching heads is not the best solution, because the intake and exhaust ports are on a diffent hight.

The carburator head has the ports on in a straight line and the injection head has the ports on diffent hight, its hard than to bolt the intake manifold air tight to the head.

Better find a decent workshop that machines that groove in,for a workshop its easy done and takes 20 minutes, compared to the trouble of switching the heads.
